Our proposal involved extensive remodeling to the rear of the house including a large full-width extension and the complete removal and re-building of the roof. By working closely with East Dunbartonshire Council we were able to design a new steeper pitched roof with new dormers, allowing us to form a second storey and create a gross internal area of 220m2.
The new extension to the rear houses a large contemporary family room with a generous open plan kitchen; living and dining area, incorporating large glazed sliding doors that access a new raised deck in the garden. The exterior was transformed with traditional slate tiles and contrasting contemporary zinc dormers for an overall bold modern monochrome colour palette.
